Description
This is a sewing project. No embroidery designs are included.
Sew a fun pocket for your folding chair to carry essentials to the beach, t-ball, soccer or football games, barbeques, parties, camping or just for lounging around the pool. The pocket hangs off the back side of a folding outdoor chair.
Pair it with a folding chair, sunscreen, towel, straw hat, etc. and you have the perfect gift.
The pocket needs to be made from a sturdy fabric such as canvas or duck cloth (Duck will be stiffer to work with). This pattern is intended for solid color canvas that is the same on both sides. Using printed fabric will give an unfavorable result.
We used a colorful #5 zipper by the yard. #5 looks great with this project. Use zipper by the yard for best results.
The pocket snaps or Velcros directly onto your chair. The chair you choose to add the pocket to is important. You will need to be able to install snaps into the back section of it. If you are unable to remove the chair fabric from the frame, you will need to be able to get your snap pliers easily into position to install the snaps. To use Velcro you will need to be able to take the chair apart to sew the Velcro to the chair.
Add an optional swivel hook on one or both bottom edges. It’s great to attach a small Embroidery Garden zipper bag to.
The front of the roomy pocket can be personalized with embroidery or heat transfer vinyl (HTV). Note no embroidery designs are included.
Info on the embellishments shown on my samples: Embroidery Monogram Design (Neptune) is built into Word Art In Stitches software. T-Ball Grandpa SVG was created in Cut N Stitch Software using built-in elements.
The pocket should be removed before folding up your chair.
