Wood Insert Clothesline Bowl Class

In Caroline’s class you will learn how to machine sew a handmade, rustic bowl using clothesline rope with a decorative wooden insert in the bottom. You will learn how to attach the wooden insert to the clothesline and then construct the bowl using a sewing machine. Learn how to add design elements to your bowl using decorative stitching in contrasting/coordinating colors, and learn to add a twisted top to the clothesline bowl before finishing it off with a knotted
end or decorative coil.
Basic supplies needed for this class include the following
● 50′ of 3/16″ or 1/4″ Cotton Clothesline
● Wood Insert
● Sewing Machine with an adjustable zigzag stitch (Optional: Decorative Stitches for
additional embellishment)
● All Purpose thread or 40 wt. Polyester Embroidery Thread
● Bobbins filled with matching or contrasting thread (Our sample used 1 matching
and 2 contrasting colors)
● 90/14 Topstitch Needle
● Zig Zag Presser Foot (J foot on Brother machines) or Satin/Monogram Stitch foot
(N foot on Brother machines)
● A pair of sharp scissors
● 1-2 Wonder Clips or similar product
● Blue Painter’s Tape or similar product
